What is a spiritual practice? 

It is a practice of rituals such as:

  • MEDITATION

  • MUDRAS

  • MANTRAS

  • PROTECTION

  • POSTURES

  • PRAYER

  • JOURNALING and

  • CHANTING

    to connect you to yourself, to your soul and to the Universe.

WHY BOTHER HAVING A SPIRITUAL PRACTICE?

As technology progresses, we have increasingly become more and more disconnected from nature which includes our own nature. So much so that we forget that our essence is a spirit. That spirit connects us to Spirit, the Universe, aka Source. It is what makes us who we are and gives us the spark that lights the fire within.

As Marianne Williamson says, “Spirit is the essence of who we are, the divine energy that permeates all life.”

It is the spirit that allows us to connect to the divine and be more accepting of another person’s behavior. The movement of our spirit opens us to the future. The spirit moves in our soul, making it more mobile and pliable. Through our spirit, we can change, releasing ourselves from past patterns that hold us back.

While the soul is what gives us our animate life, the seat of the senses, desires, affections, appetites, and even attachments, the spirit is the part of us that connects or refuses to connect to the Divine. Those who allow this movement of the spirit within their soul are usually:

  • more content with life,

  • more inspiring,

  • accepting to change and

  • transforming themselves to meet the future.


Our greatest learning comes on the spiritual plane. When does it come? When you are quiet and still. It is only then you can hear, feel, see, and know what you need to do to make your day to day life, relationships, careers, and roles ( as partners or parents or children or siblings) be the best that they can be. Essentially to be a better person.

The bottom line is that spiritual practice OPENS YOU UP.

A spiritual practice creates the space for our spirit to connect to the Divine. It allows us to hear the whispers of the universe which can guide us in our lives. It is during our time of spiritual practice we are rooted in the opportunities to put our every-day problems, agendas, and worries aside to allow peace and divinity to step in to not only guide us but also give us space to just be ourselves.

Spiritual practices that are contemplative in nature lead to better health and well-being such as:

  • improving concentration and attention

  • increasing the capacity to be compassionate, empathetic, focused and a quiet in the mind.

  • inducing calm, and clear-headedness

  • reducing sensitivity to pain

  • enhancing your immune system

  • helping you regulate difficult emotions

  • relieving stress

  • alleviating the following ailments:

    • depression

    • anxiety

    • cancer

    • fibromyalgia

    • chronic pain

    • rheumatoid arthritis

    • type 2 diabetes

    • chronic fatigue syndrome

    • cardiovascular disease

    • high blood pressure

    • inflammation

    • weight gain

    • low self-esteem

  • a grounding exercise
